On my latest Journey to the Northwest, my co-worker and I were cruising around Seattle–to hit our bi-annual clam chowder experience on the water front.   Being the consumer I am for cool stuff, I ran into Erickson Longboards.  Mr. Erickson was there himself selling the boards.  All handmade out of reclaimed wood.  Really cool stuff.  He was telling us that he started skateboarding at age 40–and then he started to make them.  He also makes beautiful cutting boards and wooden knives. (word of advice- don’t try to carry on a wooden knife on a airplane)  Check out his site
